Oh how I miss the holiday season! Who doesn't love sparkly lights, bold red christmas lipsticks, and lots of food? Since now we are in boring ol' January, I figured I'd post some pictures of my some of my favorite holiday makeup looks, outfits, and experiences.
Here I am wearing NYX's Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo. The pigmentation is absolutely amazing! I've been obsessed with matte lippies and this color is perfect for the winter season. A statement lip is also great for when you don't have a lot of time for a dramatic eye look (or just don't want to make the effort). A bold lip makes it look like you spent a lot of time on your makeup, when reality it is a lot less time consuming than blending eye shadow. I am also wearing Revlon Colorstay foundation, Maybelline The Falsies Mascara, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer under the eyes, Maybelline FitMe Concealer for blemishes, The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter by The Balm, NYC Sunny Bronzer, and the Naked 2 palette using Bootycall, Tease, Snakebite and Busted.
Christmas Eve was spent watching Frozen and It's a Wonderful life while of course eating lots of food. Toby even got in the Christmas spirit.
Steven got me a Clarisonic! I got the Mia 2 in the light pink color and as you can see from my expression, I was so excited! I will eventually do a review once I use it for a bit longer. If you don't know what a Clarisonic is, it's an exfoliating face brush that is supposed to make you face 6 times cleaner than using your hands to cleanse alone. The brush head vibrates and you move it lightly around your face with a non-exfoliating cleaner (I like to use my Cetaphil cleanser). So far I've been really enjoying using it! Thanks Steven! Also, Steven is showing off his new Fossil watch, which he loves!
My mom was super excited when she opened her Christmas present, which was tickets to Trans Siberian Orchestra! She's been wanting to see them in concert and this totally surprised her!
Aren't family Christmas parties so fun! Here I am wearing a Forever 21 dress.
This was my makeup for Trans Siberian Orchestra! It was similar to the makeup I listed before, except I darkened up my eye look using YDK and Snakebite from my Naked2 palette, lined my lids with the Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Demolition (dark brown), added my Tarte blush in Prim, and for my lips I use Maybelline's Color Sensational Matte Lipstick in Lust for Blush. I also tried out a new under eye concealer, which I will review soon!
My rings are from Forever 21.
I absolutely love this dress! It's from Forever 21 and it was only 25 bucks, which is so cheap for such a nice event dress. I love the lace and the emerald color looks so nice with my complexion. I paired the dress with some fleece lined tights and my Payless knee boots with the gold hardware on the sides.
The concert itself was amazing! They played for around two and a half hours, which is insane. The music was really impressive and it was so fun to hear the songs you normally hear on the radio live! The first half of the concert focused on a storyline called The Christmas Attic, so they would play and sings songs and in between the narrator would tell a bit of the story. In the second half they played popular and new songs, and just overall jammed out. I didn't realize the concert would have singing too, but I also enjoyed that aspect of it. They had a lot of really cool lights, bursts of fire, and fireworks at the end so there was a lot going on. They even had parts of the stage that would lift them high in the air over the crowd! If you have the chance to see them in concert I would definitely recommend it!
Now just another 10 and a half months for Christmas season to start again :P Did you do anything fun for the holidays? Comment below! Hope your January is going well!
